Saint Dymphna, the virgin martyr traditionally known as the ‘demon slayer’. On this medal she is portrayed with her sword pinning a demon to the ground at her feet, an illustration of her title “demon slayer.” In ages past, she would have been invoked to conquer the literal demons thought to possess those with mental illnesses. The medal inscribed with “Pray For Us” on the back.
Saint Dymphna is the patron of runaways, mental disorders, neurological disorders, survivors of incest, survivors of sexual assault, depression, anxiety, emotionally disturbed, mentally ill, and those who suffer neurological disorders and, consequently, of psychologists, psychiatrists, and neurologists; invoked against epilepsy, insanity, and sleepwalking.
