Vintage French Infant Jesus of Prague medal. It is a lightweight aluminum medal. The front of the medal depicts Jesus as the Infant of Prague and is inscribed with “Saint Enfant Jesus Benissez Nous” which translates from French to “Holy Child Jesus Bless Us”. The reverse side of the medal has the monogram for Christ “IHS”, the maltese cross, and the three spikes used to nail Jesus to the cross all surrounded by the crown of thorns. This is a vintage piece showing signs of age and wear from being rubbed during prayer.
The Infant Jesus of Prague is a 16th-century Roman Catholic wax-coated wooden statue of child Jesus holding a globus cruciger, located in the Carmelite Church of Our Lady Victorious in Malá Strana, Prague, Czech Republic.
