Vintage sterling silver miniature medal of Saint Joseph attached to the original card it was purchased with. This piece would have been purchased as a souvenir on a pilgrimage trip to Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal (Written in French on the card: Oratoire Saint-Joseph du Mont-Royal) in Montreal, Quebec. The front of the medal is covered in a blue enamel coating and depicts St Joseph holding the child Jesus in one hand and a lily in the other. The backside of the pendant depicts Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal which is a Roman Catholic minor basilica and national shrine in Montreal. It is marked “Sterling” and “France” on the back (see close up photos). This is a very small medal that I used my macro lens to photograph. It does show signs of age and tarnishing to the sterling and the blue enamel coating is chipped near the top of the medal (see closeup photos).
